The privilege of having a space for yourself away from the wear and tear of modern life. On the basement floor of a private Milanese home, 23bassi designs a real private spa-gym, divided into three large areas: a relaxation zone with a tea corner, a private-massage bed and a latest-generation massage chair; a SPA with an oval bath clad in travertine mosaic and a shiatsu-hydromassage bed in contrasting glass mosaic; and a gym. An emotional shower lit by a light groove and bespoke black iron-and-glass doors complete the project.
Spaces. The work is on the basement floor of a private home located within a multi-level building. The client wanted a real private spa-gym in which to dedicate free time to their own wellbeing. The space is divided into 3 large areas plus services: a relaxation zone at the entrance, a private SPA and a gym.
The relaxation zone. The relaxation zone acts as an entrance and filter with the outside for the whole project. It hosts a private-massage bed, a latest-generation massage chair and a series of bespoke furnishings, including a tea corner and cupboards to store technical elements and equipment. The false ceiling is designed to integrate the lighting.
The SPA. The spa revolves around the central oval bath, clad in travertine mosaic. Inside it hosts a shiatsu-hydromassage bed clad in contrasting glass mosaic. The elliptical shape of the bath is integrated with the column, clad in the same mosaic as the bed and with, inside, a light groove and a neck-and-shoulder jet for the spa. The perimeter wall is clad in a Tecnografica wallpaper. Within a niche, on the relaxation-area side, an emotional shower lit by a light groove was inserted.
The gym. The last room is occupied by a private gym. At its far end are the technical room and the changing room. The room is lit by two false ceilings with light grooves that also house the air ducting. The rooms are compartmentalised by bespoke iron-and-glass doors painted black.
