Borsalino lands in Versilia: Panama Beach Restaurant in Pietrasanta

The timeless elegance of Borsalino meets Italian marble and the Versilia sea. Panama Beach Restaurant was born in Marina di Pietrasanta — on the footprint of the former Nikky Beach — from the collaboration between Civiltà del Marmo by Gualtiero Vannelli and the Borsalino brand. Marble is the trait d’union of the whole establishment: from the counter and the hall floor to the bespoke-designed tables, all the way to the full cladding of the pool, the showers and the guest cabins. A green-onyx wall in the hall, inspired by Ignazio Gardella’s display walls for Borsalino, holds the limited-edition Panama hats.

Panama by Borsalino. The Panama by Borsalino project was born from the collaboration of Civiltà del Marmo, by Gualtiero Vannelli, and the Borsalino brand. The intent is to create a unique, inimitable location with an all-Italian flavour in the heart of Versilia. Marble is the prestige material par excellence that acts as the trait d’union throughout the venue: from the counter and the hall floor, to the bespoke-designed tables, to the cladding of the pool and of the guests’ showers and cabins.

Furnishing. The furnishing of the whole location was rethought to ensure guests the greatest comfort combined with impeccable design. The wooden director’s chairs, a must in a location of this kind, are by Talenti, as are the legs supporting the deck tables. As well as some loungers in nuance with the tones of the whole project’s palette, lounge areas were conceived by the poolside, with personalised cushions, covered by a pergola and surrounded by linen curtains.

The Pool area. The layout of the beach establishment had a strength that was already present under the previous management, the former Nikky Beach: the pool with its pool bar. The pool was entirely clad in marble and new life was given to the outdoor teak decking. Beside the pool bar, from which you can also get a drink while comfortably seated inside the pool, the existing teak terracing was rearranged. On top of it, maxi cushions were placed which, with their umbrellas, tables and coordinated items, create lounge areas from which to enjoy the view of the whole beach establishment.

Personalisation and detail. The design teams of 23bassi and 23bassihome cooperated synergistically for the first time on a 360° project; you can find images and discover more at this link. The placemats, towels, poufs and cushions were designed to achieve a coordinated image fitting the level of prestige of the whole project. The wallpaper of the entrance hall was also created separately, to enhance the brand’s luminous logo. Again in the hall, a bespoke green-onyx wall was designed, taking its cue from the display walls conceived by Ignazio Gardella for the Borsalino shops, serving to display the limited-edition Panama hats made and sold exclusively in this establishment.
