Yellow, yellow to the core
The home is designed to adapt to different needs: transformable elements, mezzanines and mobile furnishings optimise every square metre, while recovered materials and graphic details define a contemporary, sustainable language.

A Milanese home from 2015 where yellow is not a decorative detail but the leitmotif of the whole project. Casa Giallodentro plays on two axes: the flexibility of a space where the antechamber becomes a study, the dining table slides and turns into a desk, the bathroom serves several people at once; and the intelligent reuse of original floor tiles from the home and yellow site boards that become mezzanines and doors. Handles, panels, grouting, skirting, lamps: yellow returns in every corner, to the core, while bespoke furnishings in iron and painted OSB act as a counterpoint.

Flexibility. The whole home is designed to be used flexibly. The antechamber becomes a study, thanks to the sliding dining table that turns into a desk. Above is a small mezzanine bed, to use for guests. And the bathroom, having the shower and a washbasin in the ante-bathroom, can be used by several people at once.
Reuse. Original floor tiles from the home were reused as kitchen cladding. All the mezzanines, and the bathroom door, were made by reusing yellow site boards, enriched with details in black MDF.
Furnishings. All the furnishings are bespoke. The living-room table is in iron and is set into a ring beam in the wall where there once was a fireplace. This way it is sliding and suspended, and can be used for dining or studying. The kitchen is in white-painted OSB, and has a small bench that can be used as a breakfast stool but also as a movable bar unit. The screen-structure between the bedroom and the antechamber is made of iron, and acts as a parapet for the mezzanine bed.
Yellow. Yellow is the trait d’union of the whole project. Yellow are the handles of the kitchen and the wardrobes, yellow are some panels of the furnishings, yellow is the grouting of the grey floor and the tiled bathroom, yellow is the skirting and the split pin of the table lamp.
Mini bathroom, maximum yield. The bathroom has the shower and a hand-basin in the ante-bathroom. This way it is flexible and usable by several people: a bathroom worth double. The taps, in contrast, are white, while the washbasin is conceived by reusing an old early-1900s dressing table.
