A home bought off-plan that didn’t match the tastes of those who were to live in it. The philosophy of Casa di PODZ is one of many small targeted interventions to find the solution to every need: 23bassi was called in with the works already finished, with no room for building works, and worked only on furnishing, colours and lights. The scenic stroke is born in the living-room false ceiling, where a curved profile in the plasterboard houses all the spotlights. The master bedroom, occupied for a third by the volume of the staircase below, was solved by raising the bed and turning the flaw into a strong point with a maxi frame.

Geometries. Clean and essential. A large circle with spotlights inside it draws the false ceiling.
In the home. No masonry works were carried out; we were called in with the home handed over by the building company because it did not reflect the client’s tastes. So the choice was made not to proceed with structural and building works but to proceed with small, targeted furnishing interventions to harmonise and improve the spaces.
Lights. Some decorative pieces were bought to make the rooms more welcoming, and the great scenic stroke is given by the curved profile housing all the spotlights, which cuts through the plasterboard.
Bathrooms. Being a home bought finished directly from the building company, on our arrival everything had already been set at the plumbing level; we could only work on the wall colours, the glass and the units to soften a layout that did not match the final result we wanted to achieve. Vivid colours and ad-hoc units completely changed the perception of the bathrooms, making them functional and contemporary.
Furnishing. The furnishing project here was decisive in making the difference. The site was finished on our arrival and there was the need not to carry out building works; the bespoke-furnishing solution was able to answer several problems.
Among the most glaring was the room where we had to fit the double bed, occupied for 1/3 by the volume of the staircase below, making it practically unusable as a double room.
The idea of raising the double bed and inserting some well-storage compartments beneath it solved all the problems, also creating useful storerooms for sheets and linen, hard to place in such reduced dimensions.
Moreover, a huge frame was created that turned a great flaw (the volume in the middle of the room) into a strong point of the whole intervention.
