A kitchen you can’t see. This is the idea governing Casa degli Aironi: rather than showing off the island and the hob as happens in so many contemporary living areas, the kitchen is reinterpreted as a living-area unit, suspended and fitted with a flip-up top that hides all the equipment inside. Fridge, oven, dishwasher and washing machine disappear into flush wardrobes, while the wall behind the wall unit becomes Tecnografica wallpaper in dialogue with the home’s colour palette. On the other side, a bespoke reading bench frames the window like a piece of furniture.
The secret kitchen. The most important point of the home is certainly the open-plan kitchen.
Or rather the ‘out-of-sight’ kitchen, since it is conceived as if it were a living-area unit that turns into a kitchen.
First of all it is suspended, which is no small thing. For this reason all the large appliances — dishwasher, fridge, oven and washing machine — are inserted into the flush wardrobes on the left.
The kitchen proper, with the sink and the hob, is conceived inside a bespoke unit with a flip-up top that hides all the equipment inside.
The extractor hood is built into the wall unit. To make it all more aesthetic, the wall was clad in a Tecnografica wallpaper, in palette with all the home’s colour choices.
The reading bench and the bespoke furnishing. Diametrically opposite the kitchen is the bespoke reading bench that frames the window.
It is made of lacquered wood, with a bespoke cushion, and lets you use the window as a real piece of furniture, for your private moments of relaxation.
All the structural furnishing of the living area is bespoke; in the entrance too there is a cupboard that hides the electrical panels, with an integrated bench, dividing the living area from the sleeping area.
